MICHAËL : AS AN ARTIST

Did you grow up in an environment conductive to Art?

I grew up in a house filled with parrots and canaries. I feel that my music has been inspired by their sounds and this influence continues to permeate every note that I whistle and sing.

What has been the revelation that inspired you the artistic vocation?

I could not imagine doing anything else - I have tried, but the stage always beckons...

Have you received a specific artistic training?

I studied bel canto opera singing for many years, and I took several song-writing courses in school.

Where do you get your inspiration?

Dalida and parrots and Trina and Fairuz and poodles!

Is there any particular artist that inspires you?

DALIDA!!!

What is your most significant artistic experience?

That's a hard question - in terms of prestige and exposure, being the musical guest on The Late Show with David Letterman was very exciting, but in terms of “experience,” I have to say that writing and producing my first original song was the most profound for me, as an artistic expression.

How do the MUGLER FOLLIES fit in your artistic career?

Mugler Follies is an ideal platform to share my unorthodox approach of whistling, of operatic themes to a cutting-edge, avant-garde audience.
